MAXITO OCTAGONS AS A COPING FOR ACOUSTIC SCREENS
Road noise is a growing problem that negatively affects our health and quality of life. Maxito offers octagons, which are an effective addition to the concept of acoustic screens.
Octagonal sound reducers, or octagons for short, are elements that cope the wall of acoustic screens. This solution complements the function of the screen and further reduces road or industrial noise.
Application and operation of octagonal sound reducers
Octagonal sound reducers are elements that cope the upper edge of the wall of acoustic screens. They are often used to further reduce the level of unwanted traffic or industrial noise. The positive effect of octagons results from the phenomenon of sound wave absorption bent at the upper edge of the screen. The acoustic efficiency of noise-absorbing screens is directly related to the fact that the sound energy of the acoustic wave is bent by the upper edge of the screen, which causes the acoustic wave to scatter.
Mounting an octagon allows you to reduce the height of the screen while maintaining the same noise reduction effect. The acoustic efficiency, determined on the basis of the PN ISO 10847:2002 standard, which was estimated for acoustic screens with and without octagons, clearly indicates that the results of screens with reducers are lower by about 3 dB for 600 mm diameter octagons compared to screens without reducers. It should be remembered that a difference of 3 dB means a twofold reduction in noise.
